Renowned for their exciting brand of baseball and the distinctive atmosphere of Es Con Field. The Fighters have become an iconic baseball destination, largely due to their history of nurturing some of baseball's biggest stars, notably pitching and hitting phenom Shohei Ohtani (2013-2017) and ace pitcher Yu Darvish (2005-2011), both of whom captivated audiences before making their marks in Major League Baseball. This legacy of developing world-class talent, combined with the passionate local fanbase, has solidified the Fighters' status as a must-visit for any baseball enthusiast in Japan.
The Tokyo Dome has served as a central and iconic venue for the World Baseball Classic since its inception, hosting pool play in every single edition of the tournament (2006, 2009, 2013, 2017, 2023, and scheduled for 2026). Affectionately known as "The Big Egg" due to its distinctive air-supported roof, this indoor stadium with a capacity of around 45,600 for baseball is the home of Japan's Yomiuri Giants and is renowned for its passionate and energetic crowds. Its consistent presence highlights electric performances, as it did during the 2023 championship run.
