ONIX CARDS GUIDE (JP VER.?How do you tell Onix cards apart?Check the number in the bottom corner (e.g. 095/165 on the 151 Onix). The 1996–2000 cards on this list have no set number — the No.095 on them is the Pokédex number — so go by the set symbol, level and art. There are two Brock's Onix cards from 1998: LV.41 by Ken Sugimori (the CoroCoro promo, later redrawn for Leaders' Stadium and the Nivi City Gym deck) and LV.30 by Benimaru Itoh (Nivi City Gym deck only).)

JAPANESE ONIX CARD CHECKLIST

[7 CARDS] 1996 BASE SET TO 2026

Onix has been in the game since the 1996 Japanese Base Set, and as Brock's signature Pokémon its best cards are Gym Leader and promo versions: a 1998 CoroCoro magazine promo, a deck-only Brock's Onix and the 1999 Southern Islands collection. These 7 are the ones worth finding. The 3 marked ★ are the ones to look for first: the 1996 no-rarity-symbol original, the 1998 CoroCoro Brock's Onix and the Southern Islands promo.
