KOFFING CARDS GUIDE (JP VER.?How do you tell Koffing cards apart?Check the number in the bottom corner (e.g. 109/165 on the 151 Koffing). The 1996–1999 cards have no set number — the No.109 on them is the Pokédex number — so go by the set symbol, level and art: LV.13 is the Expansion Pack card, LV.12 is the Rocket Gang card, LV.15 is Koga’s Koffing, and the vending card has a glossy finish. The older cards are Grass type; the 2020, 2023 and 2025 cards are Darkness type.)
FIRST KOFFING · OCT 20, 1996?Koffing's first card came in the Expansion Pack, the first Japanese expansion, released October 20, 1996 — over two years before the English Base Set.

JAPANESE KOFFING CARD CHECKLIST

[8 CARDS] 1996 BASE TO 2025

Koffing’s first card was a 1996 Expansion Pack common, and nearly all of its cards since have been commons too. The cards worth chasing are that first card, a glossy 1998 vending-machine card, the 151 Master Ball mirror and the 2020 Shiny Star V shiny, plus the Rocket Gang Koffing, Koga’s Koffing, card 001 of the first e-Card set and Team Rocket’s Koffing. These 8 are the ones worth finding. The 4 marked ★ are the ones to look for first: the 1996 Expansion Pack card, the 1998 vending Koffing, the 151 Master Ball mirror 109/165 and the shiny 275/190.
