ELECTRODE CARDS GUIDE (JP VER.?How do you tell Electrode cards apart?Check the number and rarity letters in the bottom corner (e.g. 217/150 SSR on the GX Ultra Shiny Electrode-GX). The 1996 and 1997 cards have no set number — the No.101 on them is the Pokédex number — so go by the set symbol, level and art: LV.40 is the Base Set card, LV.42 is the Jungle holo and LV.24 is the Rocket Gang Dark Electrode.)
FIRST ELECTRODE · OCT 20, 1996?Electrode was in the very first Japanese set, the Expansion Pack (the original Base Set), released October 20, 1996 — over two years before the English Base Set.

JAPANESE ELECTRODE CARD CHECKLIST

[8 CARDS] 1996 BASE SET TO 2023

Electrode was in both of the first two Japanese sets, the 1996 Base Set and 1997 Pokémon Jungle — only Pikachu shares that. Since then it has had two Dark Electrode cards from Team Rocket sets, a Shiny full-art Electrode-GX, a UR secret print and a full-art Hisuian Electrode V. These 8 are the ones worth finding. The 3 marked ★ are the ones to look for first: the 1996 no-rarity-symbol original, the 1997 Jungle holo and the Shiny Electrode-GX 217/150 SSR.
